Did you know that Kota Kinabalu, Sabah was ranked in the Huffington Post’s list of top eight places to watch the sunset? This basically means that we are recognized for having one of the most amazing sunsets ever. As Sabahans, we know for sure that our pink sunset has managed to wow and capture the hearts of many people.

If you’re planning on a visit to Kota Kinabalu and would like to get the best views of the beautiful pink sunset, here are a few places you can go to:

1. Tanjung Aru Beach

If you want to feel sand in your toes while watching the sun sets, Tanjung Aru Beach is the spot. Known by everyone in Kota Kinabalu as one of the best beaches. You can even see some of the islands from the beach!

3. Kota Kinabalu Waterfront

Heaven for those who enjoy the night scene. KK Waterfront is a stretch of bars and clubs and restaurants. Start having a drink in one of the bars during happy hour and watch the sun start to set while sipping on your favorite beer.

4. Signal Hill Observatory Tower

Also known as Bukit Bendera, the observatory tower provides a panoramic view of the city as well as the beautiful sunset. You can drive to the top of the hill to get there or if you’re feeling outdoorsy, you can take a hike up to the observatory tower.

5. Sutera Harbour Resort

In this resort, you have a few options to choose from when it comes to catching the sunset. Sutera Harbour Resort consists of two hotels in its huge property. You can enjoy the sunset at either one of the property’s beach bar- Breeze Beach Club at The Pacific Sutera Hotel or Al Fresco at The Magellan. Both bars offer a spectacular view of the beach and of course the sunset as well.
