Want to visit Sabah but don’t intend to spend too much on your trip here? Are you looking for affordable accommodations during your trip here without burning a hole in your pocket? Want to experience living a dormitory or hostel style accommodation? Good news! We have something coming up real soon!

Some of you might be familiar with living in hostels while traveling. It is a more affordable choice when you don’t want to splurge on expensive, luxurious hotels and wouldn’t mind sharing rooms or amenities with others. Hostels are exactly like dormitories where you have roommates and share a common bathroom with other people.

Coming soon in May, Sabah will have its first hostel for tourists and visitors on a budget to stay in. Introducing the Toojou Social Hostel! Toojou Social Hostel is not your typical average hostel. It is clean, it is modern and it is brand new!

Located strategically in the middle of the city, it is about 1km away from the famous Filipino Market. It is also close to other tourist attractions such as Gaya Street, where the must-go Sunday Market is at, and Karamunsing Capital.

Toojou Social Hostel offers different kinds of rooms for you to choose from, based on your preference:

  • Shared Dormitory, Women only (1 Bed in 4 Beds)
  •  Shared Dormitory, Women only (1 Bed in 6 Beds)
  • Studio, 2 Single Beds, No Windows
  • Shared Dormitory, Mixed Dorm (1 Bed in 4 beds)
  • Studio, 2 Single Beds
  • Studio, 1 Queen Bed
  • Studio, 1 Queen Bed, No Windows
  • Shared Dormitory, Mixed Dorm (1 bed in 8 Beds)
  • Shared Dormitory, Mixed Dorm (1 Bed in 6 Beds)

Room facilities include:

  • Air conditioning,
  • Clothes rack,
  • Ironing Facilities,
  • Key card access,
  • Linen,
  • Lockers,
  • Non-feather pillow,
  • Reading light,
  • Smoke alarm,
  • Socket near the bed,
  • Tile/Marble floor,
  • Trash cans,
  • Upper floors accessible by lift

There’s also a 24-hour front desk to assist you with your needs and a business center for guests. If you’re feeling hungry and want some local cuisine, there is an on-site restaurant as well. For fun and games, you can play billiards in the common area of the hostel.

If you’re up for some shopping, the Oceanus Waterfront Mall is right around the corner. Don’t worry about getting to the airport super early, the Kota Kinabalu Airport is just 6km away from Toojou Social Hostel.

We are definitely anticipating the opening of the hostel and can’t wait to have more opportunity for tourists to visit our beautiful city!
