If you’ve been to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah you most probably know that KK is filled with beautiful sights and sceneries. The majestic Mount Kinabalu is popular amongst hikers and has been well-developed over the year with cozy Bed and Breakfast spots as well as resorts. Kundasang has been known as the New Zealand of Malaysia in terms of its cool weather and beautiful greens and sceneries.
With that, someone has taken the opportunity to build a glamping spot up in the mountains- Umea Glam Kundasang. Founded by four friends Irwin bin Mohamad, Yusri Manaff, Redzuan Sapin and Rayner Roy Antis, they decided to build Umea Glam as Kundasang is a spot they’d visit very often.
Opened in September 2019, Umea Glam consists of 4 domes- Narvik, Abisko, Kiruna and Gallivare- with names all inspired by the country Sweden.
The idea of this cozy and aesthetic dome glamping is to provide a spot for friends and families to spend some quality time together up in the beautiful mountain.
Umea Glam Kundasang took only 3 days to build but the furnishing was what ate up a lot of time. A lot of effort was put into designing and furnishing to ensure that it gives out the Scandinavian vibes.
And kudos to that, with the beautiful scenery and cool temperature, Umea Glam Kundasang managed to emulate the Swedish vibes.
Check out these pictures and be amazed at how wonderful our beautiful Sabah can be.
