Ahhh Laksa! a Southeast Asian food item that we are so grateful for its existence.

What makes a good laksa in your opinion? Pretty sure most people would answer that the broth/soup is the crucial part of a great laksa.

We’ve compiled a few of our favourite places to devour your favourite Peranakan dish.

Did you even have laksa if you’ve never had Yee Fung Laksa? The superstar of laksa restaurants, Yee Fung is consistently, constantly and continually packed with tourists and locals. Speaking of superstars, Yee Fung is no stranger to celebrities all over the world who would come to KK just to get a taste of their laksa!

Kuching Laksa Cafe

Address: 14, 7, Jalan Lintas, Taman Cantek, 88200 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

This hidden gem is tucked in Taman Cantek and is waiting to be discovered by laksa lovers. Known for its delicious and dense bowl of Kuching laksa, pick your base of noodle or meehoon and enjoy the juicy, fresh prawn as you slurp away.

Seng Hing Restaurant

Address: Block G, Lot 10, Sinsuran 2, Sinsuran Complex, , 88000, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

A laksa is not a laksa if it doesn’t create a beautiful mess. Don’t be fooled by the looks of this laksa, take a sip of the broth and it will pleasantly surprise you. Not your typical Sarawak laksa here. The broth of this laksa brings a zest of sourness, but in a good and refreshing way.

Kedai Kopi Sin Houng Kee

Address: Ground Floor, Shop No. 5A, Bandaran Berjaya, 88808, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Although known best for its fish noodles, Kedai Kopi Sin Houng Kee serves a good bowl of laksa too! If you’re up early way too early and crave for a bowl of fish noodle or laksa, come over here as it opens as early as 6am!

Kuching Laksa.. 🤤🤤

When it’s so good you can just have it “kosong”. The laksa of course comes with ingredients- shredded chicken, omelette and fresh prawns. Foodies, if you want to sink your teeth in this laksa, be sure to come early. Although it opens daily, it only opens for a mere THREE hours- from 7am-10am only! Get there early!
