Just last week on the 17 October 2018, Capital 21 launched its soft opening in Tampoi Johor Bahru. The mall is claimed to have the largest indoor theme park in Southeast Asia measuring at 1.2 million sq ft.
The unique idea about this mall is that it incorporates different themes of continents around the world such as Asia, America, Europe, Australia and Africa. So it’s just like visiting the world in just under one roof!
The mall will also include MCM Studio, which is the fifth largest indoor theme park in the world, will be taking up the entire third and fourth floors of Capital 21.
MCM consists of three sections – Movie Planet, Cartoon Planet, and Music Planet.
Movie Planet zone will be packed with thrilling rides such as Transformers, Dinosaur World and Haunted House. Cartoon Planet section on the other hand, which aims to cater to children, will be of “kid and family attractions” such as Tom and Jerry, Garfield as well as other animated characters.
Meanwhile, the park’s third section, Music Planet, will also have circus-like as well as musical and theatrical performances by the London Music Circus and Great British Circus. There will be daily circus performances within the theme park instead of outdoor circus performances, for a better experience for both performers and audience.
At the moment, only the Cartoon Planet zone is opened to the public but will soon be joined with Movie Planet and Music Planet. Parents with children can spend some time together at the Cartoon Planet while also do some shopping around the mall. There are two types of passes to the Cartoon Planet. The Day Pass, worth RM128 will include the entrance fee and all-you-can-play attractions for the entire day. The Gate Pass, priced at RM30, however, is just the entrance fee. You will need to pay for each attraction you play or ride. Good news! In conjunction with its soft opening, the Gate Pass is now free so you can enter Cartoon Planet to take a look and explore.
On the higher floors of the building of Capital 21, there will be convention and ballroom halls, the first World Museum in Malaysia and also a pipeline that links the mall to Hilton Hotel and Planet Hotel. Not forgetting, the Capital Suites Serviced Apartments holding 690 units are currently in its work in progress on top of the building as well.
How do you get there? Capital 21 is about a 20-minute drive away from the Woodlands Causeway, so fellow Singaporeans can make a short day trip to get some shopping done, or just to have fun thrilling fun in the theme park. At the moment, there are no public transportation or shuttle bus services offered. However, if you are around the JB area, you can definitely take a Grab car over.
So what are you waiting for, grab your passports and make a trip down here and have fun!
