Fellow Sabahans! We know how everyone is so excited about the arrival of Domino’s Pizza. What is your verdict on the pizza? Do you like them?

A lot of Sabahans have been waiting and pleading for years for Domino’s Pizza to extend in Kota Kinabalu and their plea has been answered positively.

On September 17th, KK’s first Domino’s Pizza outlet was officially in business and is located at T1 Bundusan. And without hesitation, the outlet was flooded with excited and curious patrons dying to try Domino’s Pizza for the first time.

Every single day of the day for the past few weeks, business has been good for Domino’s. Patrons overflowing out of the store, waiting patiently to place their orders and ever so patiently waiting for their orders to be prepared. Some had claimed that they’ve waited for almost an hour and a half for their order.

Some of you might want to wait for the hype to die down a little before jumping on the bandwagon to try Domino’s. That’s a great idea because then you don’t have to wait for hours to get your pizza. After all, it’s just pizza.

Pretty sure some of you even went on the website to check out beforehand what flavors and toppings to choose from while salivating behind the computer/mobile screen. But wait, we all know how deceiving these pictures can be!

Hence, we are here to show you some of the expectations vs reality pictures of some of the pizzas on the website and in real life.

Ultimate Hawaiian

Domino’s

True enough, the reality looked nothing like the pictures on the website. To be fair, we ordered the thin crust so the crust definitely would look different. The toppings, however, is entirely different from the picture on the website. The mushrooms are darker than the pictures, pineapples look paler than the ones shown on the website, and the crust is a little burnt. However, logically speaking, that is how a baked and cooked pizza would look like. All toppings and cheese would be melted and blended with the pizza.

Meat Mania

Domino’s

This is a failed example of expectations vs reality because look at that, it is true to quality! The phrase “All pictures are for illustrations purposes only” does not apply to this because of the authenticity of the pizza in real life. The real-life pizza looks just like the pizza in the pictures! It looks a little different because of the melted cheese on top of the toppings, but hey, we’re not complaining! The more cheese the merrier!

Chicken Pepperoni

Domino’s

Basically, this one is acceptable because it’s just chicken pepperoni slices as toppings on the pizza. It looks different in reality compared to the picture on the website because, once again, they put the cheese on top of the toppings. So when it’s baked in the oven, the cheese melted, causing the pepperoni to be concealed with the rest of the pizza. Nevertheless, the taste of the pizza was not affected. Like we said, the more cheese the better!

Prawn Sensation

Domino’s

You can see it for yourself what the main cutback is in the picture and in reality. Yes, the prawns in reality. As you can see, the prawns displayed in their pictures are golden brown, fresh and they look well marinated. However, in reality, the prawns look pretty stale, uncooked and unappetizing. The crust looks under-baked and not brown enough too. Even the onions are cut differently in reality compared to the pictures. As for this case, “pictures are for illustration purposes only” is heavily applied.

Simply Cheese

Domino’s

Okay, how different can a simple just cheese topping pizza can look in real life compared to the pictures, right? We’re not sure what are some of the burnt pieces are on top of our cheese pizza, but they looked like chicken slices? So either we were given extra toppings, or we were given the wrong order of pizza. It definitely did not look like the pictures and it did not taste as cheesy as advertised. The crust once again did not look like it was baked long enough in the oven.

These are five of the many pizza selections we have ordered. We have tried and tasted and this is our personal preference and opinions. What about you? What is your verdict on Domino’s pizza so far? How long did you wait? Are you willing to wait again?
